States with the Rudest Drivers 2014

Where does Arizona rank when it comes to the state with the rudest drivers?

The definition of rude is offensively impolite, insensitive, or deliberately offensive. When driving being rude can take on a whole new light, enraging drivers, being a danger to others on the road, and possibly leading to a collision. There should be no excuse in being a rude driver but most of us have been that person on the road, or at the least know someone who is.

When driving the stress levels can be elevated and dealing with the rudeness of another driver can exacerbate the situation. Things like not using turn signals, swerving in and out of lanes, and not going with the flow of traffic are all things that can make the driving experience a pain for the people around an indifferent driver. It can lead to a lack of safety, and for something that is already at some level of risk having people oblivious to the effects of their actions can make it downright maddening.

The top ten states with the rudest drivers are:

10. Utah
Most hated by drivers from: California

9. Nevada
Most hated by drivers from: California

8. New Jersey
Most hated by drivers from: New York

6. Vermont (Tie)

6. Delaware (Tie)

5. Massachusetts

4. Wyoming

3. New York

2. Washington D.C.

1. Idaho

Bad Driver Compilation

These states have issues ranging from speed racers, talking on the phone excessively, blocking traffic from merging and changing lanes, to just being rude for the sake of being rude (e.g. middle finger). But where does Arizona stand in rude drivers?

Arizona comes in at 34th place and out of 51 (50 states plus D.C.), although it might not be the best at least it is in the bottom half beating out 17 other locations.

So it seems Arizona drivers aren’t the worst offenders on the road. Next time you are stuck in stop and go traffic and someone turns their blinker on do something nice and actually let them in, and maybe next year we can start to move toward the positive side of the list and beat out states like Michigan (35), Nebraska (44), and North Dakota (51).
